Chiropractic is the method of natural healing most chosen by those seeking complementary or alternative health care for acute and chronic conditions.
While at first you may visit a chiropractor to relieve pain in the lower back or to treat sciatica, neck pain, or headache, you will find that a chiropractor views you as a whole person and not just bits and pieces. A chiropractor will work in partnership with you to ensure you reach your optimal health to keep you well.
A chiropractic adjustment consists of making minor adjustments to the joints as needed. Joints in need of an adjustment are subluxated, which means out of alignnment. When the joint is out of alignment, it can cause nerve interference, causing pain and dysfunction in the joint. Just like a car out of alignment, the body running on joints out of alignment can cause wear and tear on the joint. But the very first symptom of a subluxation isn’t pain, instead one may experience: digestive issues, asthma, or muscle weakness.
Dr. Tara uses the following adjustment methods:
Gonstead
Hands – on method
Thompson Drop
Easing a gentle drop of the table to assist

Activator
A hand held device that uses a gentle tapping method
Nutritional Counseling
Dr. Tara is also available for nutritional counseling. She will assess your need for a different diet, determining possible food allergies, sensitivities, or if you are simply trying to lose weight for better health. She will also suggest any supplements if she determines that you have a deficiency in vitamins or minerals, or just need a boost to your immune system.
Massage Therapy
You will also find massage therapy available at Chiro Company. Leigh is a Licensed Massage Therapist in WI, and is trained in therapeutic massage to help re-establish muscle length and function, as well as massage for physiological stress on the body. Stress is known to cause illness and disease in the body if not appropriately dealt with. Massage therapy offers a natural way to help your body activate the healing mode in your cells and calm down the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight mode of the body). Massage is recommended with your chiropractic care to speed the healing process and regain normal function, as well as for general health and wellness.
Exercise Rehabilitation
During your care, Dr. Tara will determine if you could benefit from exercise rehabilitation. Since our spine is supported by our core muscles, most times you’re in need of at least a core workout. But don’t get confused by “core” – it not only means your stomach but also the back muscles. For example, with repetitive type jobs and a lot of sitting at computers, we have over-stressed and fatigued muscles. There may be muscle groups that are slacking off and making other muscles work extra hard causing pain, numbness, or other symptoms. Adding some exercise rehab can help your body stay in balance and handle physical stress on the body from a job, hobby, or sport.
